Terms of Service
Effective Date: January 1, 2026
These Terms of Service govern your use of bayoumoving.com and the moving services provided by Bayou Moving, a licensed and insured moving company based at 1815 Barrow Street, Houma, LA 70360, serving Terrebonne Parish and the broader Houma-Thibodaux metro area of Louisiana. By using this website or requesting service, you agree to the terms below.
Services Provided
Bayou Moving provides local and long-distance residential and commercial moving services, including full-service packing, short-term storage, piano moving, load-and-unload assistance, and senior move support. All physical moving work is performed by our own W-2 crew using our own trucks; Bayou Moving does not broker jobs out to unaffiliated companies or day laborers.
Quotes and Estimates
Estimates provided over the phone are non-binding approximations. A written quote following an in-home or video walkthrough more accurately reflects final pricing, though actual charges may vary based on additional items, access conditions such as stairs or long carries at elevated homes, or delays outside our control, including weather events common during Gulf Coast hurricane season.
Scheduling and Cancellations
We ask customers to confirm move dates in advance and to notify our office as early as possible of any needed changes. We understand that hurricane season sometimes requires rescheduling on short notice and will work in good faith to accommodate weather-related changes to your move date.
Liability and Insurance
Bayou Moving maintains insurance coverage and authority on file consistent with applicable Louisiana and federal requirements for moving companies. Basic valuation coverage is included with every move as required by law; additional valuation coverage is available upon request. Claims for loss or damage must be reported to our office in writing within the timeframe stated on your bill of lading.
Payment
Payment is due upon completion of service unless otherwise agreed in writing in advance. We accept the payment methods listed on our contact page. Storage fees for any short-term storage arrangement accrue separately from the moving charge.

Content on bayoumoving.com, including text, photos, and logos, is the property of Bayou Moving and may not be reproduced without permission. You agree not to use this website in any way that interferes with its operation or misrepresents your identity when requesting a quote.
Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by Louisiana law, Bayou Moving’s liability for any claim arising from services performed is limited to the valuation coverage selected at the time of booking.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Louisiana. Any disputes will be resolved in the appropriate courts of Terrebonne Parish.
